Cobb, Blue Devils advance

Kelly Cobb was held scoreless in Duke’s 5-0 first-round rout of Radford in the opening round of the NCAA women’s Division I soccer tournament on Sunday, Nov. 13 — but not for a lack of trying.

Cobb, a freshman from Peters Creek, had a team-high six shots in the match, including three on goal. With her six shots, Cobb now has 79 shots on the season, a freshman single-season record. The tally also ranks fourth on Duke’s all-time list.

Duke’s victory was the team’s 18th, a team record.

Cobb will have another chance to add to her total when the Blue Devils host the University of Georgia.
