Chugiak/Eagle River girls hockey team wins again
Chugiak/Eagle River exploded for four second-period goals en route to a 7-6 Anchorage Girls Hockey League win over Service/East on Friday, Nov. 22 at the Dempsey Anderson Ice Arena in Anchorage.
Rian Runyan had a hat trick and Chugiak/Eagle River got two goals each from Daphne Gray and Haley Olds — including the game-winner with 6:30 left in the third period.
Runyan and Kara Rahm both notched two assists for Chugiak/Eagle River, which improved to 2-2 in the four-team league.
Morgan Richards made 10 saves on 16 shots for Chugiak/Eagle River, which outshot Service/East 38-16. Lenaya Braniff made 23 saves for Service/East.
Girls hockey teams will take Friday, Nov. 29 off for the Thanksgiving holiday. Chugiak/Eagle River will return to action Dec. 6 for a 6 p.m. clash with first-place South/Bartlett (3-0-1) at the Dempsey Anderson.
