Chugiak, Eagle River musicians selected for All-State Music Festival
More than a dozen local musicians have earned spots in the 2019 ASAA/First National Bank Alaska All-State Music Festival Nov. 22-23 in Anchorage.
Chugiak had 11 selections on the All-State Band, including four alternates. Eagle River had two students named All-State. The Mustangs had 12 All-State Orchestra selections (including one alternate) with the Wolves getting the same two musicians — bassist Mark von Luhrte and bassoonist Joshua Saylor also selected to the orchestra. Chugiak also had two students selected to the All-State Mixed Choir and one to the All-State Treble Choir; Eagle River had two selections on the All-State Treble Choir.
This year’s gala concert will be held Saturday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. at West High.
