A big lineman and a big leg have been tabbed for top postseason honors by the state’s football coaches.

Chugiak senior defensive end Austin Harr was named first-team All-State by the Alaska Football Coaches Association, which named the Mustangs’ Josh Rolston as the state’s top kicker and punter.

Harr was a first-team All-Railbelt Conference selection at defensive end and a second-team all-conference running back for the Mustangs, who went 6-3 and lost in the first round of the Division I state playoffs.

Rolston was named the Division I Kicker of the Year and Punter of the Year. A standout for the Chugiak soccer team, Rolston booted several long field goals and punts this season, including a season-long 47-yard field goal against Colony. He also narrowly missed a 57-yard attempt that would have set a state record.

Five Mustangs were named second-team All-State, including running back (and Railbelt Conference Offensive Player of the Year) Tyler Huffer, offensive lineman Collin Caldwell, linebackers Christian Beesing and Kody Carlson; and defensive back Jacob Oshesky.
