Lathrop sure knows how to hold a grudge.

The Malemutes defeated Eagle River 54-10 Saturday in the ASAA/First National Bank Alaska Division II State Football Semifinals — the team’s second win over the Wolves since losing to Eagle River in last year’s D-II semis.

LaDavien Simon had an 80-yard kickoff return for Eagle River’s lone touchdown. Andrew Hamilton had a field goal for the Wolves, who got 97 total yards from Tim Pennington (62 receiving, 35 rushing) and 72 from Justin Davis (51 rushing, 21 receiving).

The Wolves finished 4-5 and reached the state playoffs for the second straight season.
