Deadline to apply for state quake relief extended to Feb. 28
The State of Alaska has extended the deadline for people to apply for the state’s Individual Assistance Program for damage caused by the November earthquake. According to an announcement sent Monday, people now have until Feb. 28, 2019 to fill out an application at ready.alaska.gov.
The deadline was originally Jan. 29.
Individuals can also call 1-855-445-7131 for assistance.
The program is open to residents of the Anchorage, Mat-Su and Kenai Peninsula areas. The program can provided up to $17,450 in grants to people impacted by the quake. Damage covered includes losses to someone’s personal or real property caused by the quake or subsequent aftershocks. Applications can be amended if new damage is discovered after filing.
