Muni taking applications for Demboski’s vacant assembly seat

The Anchorage Municipal Clerk is taking applications to fill the vacancy on the Anchorage Assembly created when Chugiak’s Amy Demboski resigned to become deputy chief of staff for Gov. Mike Dunleavy.

Applications are available at the clerk’s office, on the assembly’s website at or at the municipality’s elections site at

Applicants must be registered to vote in Anchorage and must have lived in District 2 for at least a year. The appointee will serve from approximately Dec. 20 until after the regular April election.

Applications will be accepted either by hand delivery at the clerk’s office or by emailing the clerk at [email protected]. Applications will accepted until 5 p.m. on Dec. 14. The assembly will conduct interviews at a public meeting at 2 p.m. on Dec. 20 and then vote on an appointee.
