Kimberly Mauser and Bianca Temple took top honors at the 2010 Miss Chugiak-Eagle River Scholarship pageant, held Nov. 7 at Chugiak High School. Each has their own title:

Mauser is Miss Chugiak-Eagle River, and Temple is Miss Chugiak-Eagle River's Outstanding Teen. Debbe Ebben and Lindsey Roth were first runners-up, respectively.

The Miss Chugiak-Eagle River contest is for young women ages who are at least seniors in high school and ages 17 to 24, while the teen title is for those in the 13- to 17-year-old range. Both Mauser and Temple are eligible for, and will be competing in, the Miss Alaska pageant in June.

Mauser is 20 years old and a Chugiak High School graduate. She currently attends University of Alaska Anchorage. She is the daughter of Richard and Insuk-Kim Mauser.

Temple, the 2010 winner, is home schooled part time and attends Chugiak High School part time. She is 15, and the daughter of Laura and Vik Temple.

Alisa Parrent, organizer of the Miss Chugiak-Eagle River event, said as part of their duties as representatives for the community, the young women are available for appearances in and around Chugiak and Eagle River.

Contact Parrent at 250-3154 or misschugiak_er@yahoo.com to schedule an appearance.
