Fight, flight and free trip to jail

Anatoliy Malak, 21 of Wasilla, was arrested Nov. 8 for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after Anchorage police officers responded to a caller reporting a fight in progress on Ursa Minor Circle in Eagle River. According to department spokesman Lt. Dave Parker, Malak ran from police when ordered to stop. After being apprehended he lunged at an officer, attempting to head-butt the officer.

Malak told police that the "fight" was a practice for the Alaska Fighting Championship. After threatening police again and taking a fighting stance he was placed into total restraints and taken to the Anchorage Jail on a gurney. He is being held without bail until his next hearing.
