A Cesna 185 carrying four people crashed near Eklutna Aug. 24 while en route to Birchwood Airport after a flight seeing trip to Knik Glacier.
Around 5:25 p.m. the plane with three men and a woman on board lost power and was forced down in a wooded area near the Native Village of Eklutna.
Three of the people on the plane received minor facial injuries, and the fourth complained of neck and back pain, but none of the injuries were life threatening, according to the Anchorage Police Department.
Along with APD officers, rescue and fire crews from the Chugiak Volunteer Fire Department responded. CVFD chief Bruce Bartley described the scene.
"The right wing was folded back with quite a bit of intrusion into the cockpit, and the rescuers described it to me as the fuselage was crumpled in the middle, so pretty significant damage," he said.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
