New People Mover schedules available

Every year, People Mover revises its routes and schedules for budget-related requirements and to ensure buses have sufficient running time to operate on-time. The changes went into effect Monday and the new schedule is now available.

The most significant changes to service occur in the Eagle River, Chugiak and Birchwood areas. Originally slated for a significant service reduction, a drop in People Mover fuel prices allowed 70 percent of the current service to continue in this area.

Major changes occurring on Monday include: service on Old Glenn Highway between North and South Birchwood will be served by Route 102 during peak hours only; Route 76 serving Eagle River, Birchwood and Peters Creek will directly serve downtown Anchorage; and select peak hour trips on Route 77 will continue to serve the Muldoon Transfer Center. Saturday service will operate directly to downtown Anchorage.

The 2009 Ride Guide can be downloaded from www.peoplemover.org, purchased on the bus or at several sales outlet locations posted on our Web site.
