Woman scares off burglar with scream
Wilma Hamann, 71, called police at 8:18 a.m. June 28 to report a burglary in her home the night before. She said she heard a loud noise in the downstairs area of her home on Coleman Circle at 2:15 a.m. She heard the suspect come up the stairs and she screamed. The intruder fled without taking anything. Hamann told police she didn’t report it right away because nothing was stolen and “she didn’t want to bother police at that hour of the night,” Anchorage police spokeswoman Marlene Lammers said. There is no information about the suspect.
