Bear-resistant trash cans available
The group Safe Neighborhoods, Wild Bears is using a $60,000 grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to replace 150 regular trash cans with bear-resistant ones for Alaska Waste customers in parts of Eagle River, Muldoon and the Anchorage Hillside.
The Bear-resistant trash cans feature a reinforced lid and security bar.
