Muni applies for $2.7 M in federal stimulus funds
The Municipality of Anchorage filed a formal proposal with the U.S. Department of Energy requesting $2.7 million in Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funds. The money is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, or federal economic stimulus package.
The municipality plans to use the money to install energy efficient lighting in parking garages and street lights, retrofit heating and lighting systems in municipal facilities and improve regional transit planning.
