Driver with heroin arrested
Police arrested Matuxz Mazur, 23, of Anchorage, Feb. 17 for DWI and misconduct involving a controlled substance after a traffic stop on the Glenn Highway in Chugiak. According to police department spokesman Lt. David Parker, other drivers reported Mazur driving recklessly in the Eklutna Flats area, and a patrol car was dispatched to investigate. Officers found Mazur with his vehicle stuck in the snow. He provided a breath sample, which yielded a 0.000 blood-alcohol reading. He was later found to be in possession of heroin. His was taken to the Anchorage Jail and bail was set at $3,000 cash.
