Chugiak-Eagle River Food Pantry thanks its plentiful donors
Thank you, from the Chugiak-Eagle River Food Pantry, to the many organizations and individuals who have contributed over the 2009 holiday season and throughout the year. Your generous donations of food and cash have made an impact in the lives of hundreds of individuals and families, enabling them to keep food on the table. Thanks to you, we were able to serve more than 3,000 individuals last year, an increase of about 15 percent over 2008. Contributors include, with apologies to those not mentioned, Prudential Vista Realty, Remax Realtors, Northrim Bank, Karate Club, Northern Chiropractic, BP Fabric of America, Boy Scouts, U.S. Postal Service workers, Antique Comb and Clipper Salon, AppleTree Book Shop, Carrs Safeway and Fred Meyer. Teacher, parent and student groups at our local elementary, middle and high schools also helped out. Congregations of many churches and community members who donated as individuals through the many food drives also added to the bounty. And of course that ever present person – "Anonymous."
