'Thank you,' Bill Starr for asking tough questions for Assembly

'Thank you,' Bill Starr for asking tough questions for Assembly

Assemblyman Bill Starr deserves a huge "thank-you" from the entire community for pursuing the Begich Administration financial mess ("Starr asks FBI to examine city finances," Jan. 28, 2010). The public has a right to know what happened, and an independent audit is the right move to restore trust in our government. Every member of the Assembly should support the effort to get the truth, as that is what they swore to do in their oath of office.

One has to wonder what Sen. Begich has to hide if he doesn't want an audit done. Perhaps he is afraid that once the audit is complete the federal and state authorities might be asking some very difficult questions.
