Tobacco heist hits local cigarette store

Up-In-Smoke, a local tobacco store, was broken into Jan. 23. The unknown suspect(s) stole six cartons of cigarettes valued at $420, and did an estimated $500 worth of damage to the store. The case is still pending.

Lt. David Parker, spokesman for the Anchorage Police Department, said the case would be a felony if the suspect(s) had stolen an additional carton of cigarettes.
