POLICE BRIEFS: Slow week for cops as hair-pulling arrest tops Chugiak-Eagle River blotter

On Dec. 17 at around 1:18 a.m., police responded to a residence on the Old Glenn Highway in Chugiak for a report of a disturbance between two roommates. Police said one of the roommates, Carrie L. Pearson, 50, was arrested and charged with assault for allegedly pulling her roommate’s hair.
Two handed over to APD
On Dec. 17 at around 3:21 a.m., an APD officer checked the license plate of a suspicious vehicle, which came back as registered to Laurie M. Gardner, 32, of Eagle River. Police said Gardner had an active warrant for her arrest. Police said officers went to the residence associated with the vehicle and located both Gardner and Michael G. Baker, 23, hiding in a bedroom. Police said Baker also had a warrant and both people were transported to the Anchorage Jail.
Storage container broken into
On Dec. 12 at around 9:37 a.m., police were called after it was discovered someone cut a lock off a storage container belonging to the Alaska Division of Forestry and stole several items.
Quarreling roommates separated
On Dec. 13 at around 1:47 a.m., police were called to Whispering Loop for a report of a disturbance between two roommates, one of whom was intoxicated. Police said no charges were filed and the intoxicated roommate was transported by police to a friend’s house for the night.
CHS students busted for vaping
On Dec. 13 at around 12:16 p.m., two Chugiak High students were caught vaping in the bathroom. Their parents were contacted and citations were issued, police said.
SUV speeds away
On Dec. 15 at around 4:40 a.m., an APD officer tried to stop an SUV near the intersection of Business Boulevard and Regency Drive for having an obscured rear license plate. However, the SUV ran a red light and the officer decided not to pursue.
Cops take wanted people into custody
On Dec. 15, Anchorage police took custody of a pair of people arrested in the Mat-Su on outstanding warrants and transported to the Anchorage Jail. APD said Joel W. Kenworthy, 31, of Palmer, and Randi D. Greene, 28, of Eagle River, were arrested by troopers in separate incidents and transferred to APD custody at the Knik River Bridge.
