Chugiak goalie makes 26 saves to help Mustangs stay unbeaten

Tyler Huffer scored the game-winning goal and Alayna Breivogel made it stand up Wednesday at Chugiak improved to 2-0 in the Cook Inlet Conference with a 1-0 high school hockey win over West at Ben Boeke Ice Arena.

Huffer’s unassisted tally came with 6:36 left in the third period and Breivogel made 26 saves to earn the shutout for Chugiak, which is 5-0 overall this season.

Will Simpson made 21 saves for West, which outshot the Mustangs 26-22.

Chugiak’s next game is a CIC clash with South on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Ben Boeke.
