Winter storm could bring heavy snow, slick roads
Winter’s on its way.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory Sunday evening calling for snow across Anchorage and the Mat-Su starting early Monday morning. According to the advisory, 5 to 8 inches of snow could fall northeast of Anchorage overnight, with as much as a foot at higher elevations.
The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Monday. According to the National Weather Service, the storm system is expected to bring snow to Anchorage and the Mat-Su, where similar advisories were also issued Sunday. The advisory said slippery conditions and reduced visibility are expected on area roads.
