Turf war between rival fort-builders draws police attention

On May 30 at around 3:27 p.m., police contacted a group of kids who said they were building a fort in the woods near Homestead Elementary School. The children reportedly told police they ventured near another fort to collect more wood, at which time they were confronted by a rival group of fort-builders, who told them to stay away.

Police said the first group reported the second group had knives for carving sticks, but did not “lunge at them with the knives or take any further action with the knives.” Police said the first group of fort-builders could not identify the second group.
