Arrest warrant issued for Chugiak man for armed robbery
A Chugiak man is wanted after a home robbery last weekend.
According to the Anchorage Police Department, 19-year-old Lepharoh Merriouns of Chugiak knocked on the door of a residence in the early evening of March 3. Merriouns told the homeowner he had been robbed and asked if he could come inside to use the phone.
After entering, Merriouns produced a handgun and threatened to shoot the homeowner. Shortly thereafter several other armed suspects entered the home. One of the suspects hit the homeowner in the face. Prior to leaving the suspects took several expensive items from the house.
Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Merriouns for Robbery I, Assault III, and Theft II. He is still outstanding.
